Hey there, trombonists.

Well, you may or may not be reading this(but since you're already here it's obvious you are), but I think there's something really wrong with the section. I mean, after the band comp, people are not turning up for band, regardless with valid reasons or not; and the thing is, you don't even inform me about your absence. I really cannot understand why you guys are doing this.

Ever since I became SL(without prior notice), things have changed drastically. I've tried to be nice and not to be too harsh, but it seems that I'm being taken for granted. And when I'm trying to be stern, most of you just don't give a damn.

This made me reflect: Was I in the wrong? What have I done to get such a response from you guys?

Is it because that, the sec 4s have gone on and graduated, and now the new generation of leaders is taking over, that you no longer feel the need to have the least bit of respect? I can sense that I don't have a standing in the section.

Like when I ask you to come for practice, or ask why you were absent, you just shrug and ignore me altogether. It's not like I'm asking you to jump off a building or whatsoever. I just want an answer. And I have always been stressing for those absentees to give me a letter/MC for your absences, but I haven't got any at all.

Nobody cares a hoot anymore. And I don't know what to do.

Tell me, should I just give up on you guys, give up on band?

Maybe I shouldn't even have become the SL. I'm sorry, Shirin, but you've made the wrong choice. Perhaps I'm not eligible at all, perhaps that's the reason why things have turned out this way.

Everything is just... never mind.

I don't think anyone would even listen anymore.
